Even for a top-of-the-range Ducati, this is something very special. Previous R models of the 998 and 999 had the usual trick bits and a pinch more power. The 1098R is in another league.

Ducati claim 180bhp and 165kg, making it their lightest machine and the most powerful production twin ever. A walloping 134Nm gives the highest torque-to-weight ratio on sale too.
