Default bike keeps cutting out!!!

i started my gpx 250 the other day and let her warm up, i climbed aboard as usual, pulled in the clutch, put her in first, but suddenly started to kill the engine everytime i pulled off!!! can someone please give some tips or pointers towards what the problem could be, any kind of advice would help massively. many thanks.

Is the engine dying instantly, as if you'd switched it off? Or is it dying slowly, like a lack of power?

If it's the former, do you have a faulty switch on your side stand?

Sounds like the side stand switch. Or even the K.A.R.P.D. That's the Kawasaki Anti Rust Prevention Device, which effectively stops the bike from going out if its raining..

Sounds side standy to me - the movement is causing it to drop a little perhaps - so check the action of the stand as well as the switch

KARPD? - Gods these Japanese are just SO inventive aren't they?

does it die as soon as you select a gear or as you let the clutch out? can you rev it freely in neutral?

Defo the side stand switch doubt it would be the clutch switch if fitted just to the right of the clutch lever
sounds Very much like the side stand still telling your bike the stand is down thus cutting the engine clean lube and if still no luck new switch or by pass to keep you going for now untill you get a new one had this fault on one of my r1s easy fix
