After first wearing the Repsol Honda Team uniform in the team presentation at the end of January, last week Marc Márquez was back on his RC213V alongside the stars of the class. It’s fair to say he made a positive start to 2013 in Malaysia.
Repsol Honda’s Dani Pedrosa finished the Sepang test fastest overall, nearly 0.4s ahead of reigning champ, Jorge Lorenzo. Valentino Rossi picked up his pace today and was only just over a tenth from J-Lo.
Dani Pedrosa, once again, was quickest on the second day of testing at Sepang. The first day of the Sepang MotoGP test has just finished, with Dani Pedrosa topping the time sheets, closely followed by Jorge Lorenzo and rookie, Marc Marquez. Just three-hundredths cover the Spanish trio.
Jorge Lorenzo did exactly what he had to do in 2012. Having established an early lead, he rode with his head for the rest of the season – ensuring that it was his rivals that made the mistakes.
Yamaha Motor Co. Ltd have confirmed the extension of Jorge Lorenzo’s contract to ride for the Yamaha Factory Racing MotoGP Team for 2013 and 2014, immediately quashing one of the rumours for hot seat swapping action at the end of the 2012 season after Casey Stoner announced his retirement from the sport at Le Mans.
Hold on tight, to your sofa. As well as the Gunners going to Old Trafford to demolish the Mancs, there’s a whole loada racing on the box this weekend.
Forget racing in the Czech Republic this weekend, like most guys do anyway with all that Eastern European gusset. The headlines are dominated by Mr Stoner’s announcement that Mrs Stoner will be popping a junior Stoner out, early in 2012 – timing of such event is essential to racers, landing the sprog in off-season.
