Many of you will have heard that our very own Jamie Wilkins had a bit of a serious off at Oulton Park last month, while competing in the GSX-R Trophy.

Having pushed hard in the first race to finish a very credible 8th, he started race two with a blinding launch, making up about six places into turn one.

Sadly, this is the point where it all went horribly wrong. Two guys got tangled in front of him, and collected another rider as they crashed.

Wilko had nowhere to go other than over the top of their wreckage. We believe he was then collected by his own bike as it cartwheeled down the track.

As the dust settled, it was clear that Wilko was sparko, and seriously injured. The marshals and medics did a fantastic job of looking after him, and he was airlifted to Chester hospital within minutes of the crash.

The biggest concern was that the state of his crash helmet suggested his noggin might not be in the best of conditions. The marshals reckoned they
