Simon Andrews is the latest in a long line of circuit racers manning up and heading to the Isle of Man to race. The former MSS Colchester Kawasaki man will be riding an ex-Jentin BMW S 1000 RR for Paul Shoesmith’s Ice Valley BMW team in the superbike and superstock races. “It’s like nothing else and I thought then, this is something I need to tick off the list.” Some tick.
Simon has already raced at Macau and scored some decent results there, but the TT will be another challenge entirely. His 2010 season was blighted by an injury sustained at the Valencia WSB round, and Andrews could never reclaim the sort of success for the Kawasaki squad that he achieved in 2009. Dropped for 2011, Andrews will ride for PR Racing in BSB Evo on a Kawasaki ZX-10R. For more TT info head to www.iomtt.com
