Pre-production testing on the eagerly awaited MV Agusta F3 is continuing apace, with the news eminating from Varese that MV really do think the new F3 is going to be the benchmark by which we judge all supersport bikes.
Apparently “the engine has proven to be extremely reliable on the engine test bench during durability test cycles and has exceeded the power target at this level of development. The engine has already surpassed 135CV and rev’s to over 15.000rpm.”

MV are attributing it’s apparently excellent track manners to the F3’s counter-rotating crankshaft, which they claim not only offers an advantage during fast direction changes, there is also a massive benefit with regards to weight transfer during acceleration offering an increase in rear wheel traction. We’ll wait to try it out before we fully buy that judgement.
The really good news is that MV claim they’re well on track with production processes, and that the F3 will be in full production by mid September 2011, and onsale in the late Autumn.
