Suzuki Announce Vintage Parts Programme

If you attended Motorcycle Live this year, you would have seen Suzuki’s impressive array of classic bikes (road and race) on display at the NEC, and now Suzuki GB has announced the launch of its new Vintage Parts Programme in response to the growing interest in the classic and vintage market.

Starting with the RGV250, Suzuki will have every single part that still available from the factory listed online and will continue with bikes like the GSX-R750, GSX1100 Katana and the RG500, plus a few more. There’ll be a bespoke section of the website that’ll feature original brochures, workshop manuals and parts booklets available for download.

Suzuki GB Aftersales Marketing Coordinator, Tim Davies, said, “I think across motorcycling at large we’re seeing a lot more interest from people who are looking for an older machine that perhaps they rode or wanted when they were younger, or riders who are looking for a bit of a project.

“Our Vintage Parts Programme makes the whole experience of owning a classic Suzuki even better, with specialist knowledge on hand, a complete list of available parts and accompanying images, and the service manuals too.

“We’ll be launching the campaign with the sought after RGV250K, and adding a new model every quarter, but we also want customers to share their own images with us of their classic Suzukis, some before and after shots maybe, and to also let us know if there are any models they’d really like to see added to the programme.”

One thing we get sick of hearing is, ‘sportsbikes are dead’. No, they’re not. Yes, new bike sales are suffering but the used market is flourishing, and continues to support struggling dealers. Now, with the Suzuki Vintage Parts Programme, we hope to see a few more on the roads, not just under a blanket in storage.
