Yamaha is stepping up the middleweight Sport Touring game in 2025 with the updated TRACER 7 and TRACER 7 GT. Featuring sharper styling, next-gen electronics, and more touring-ready upgrades, the new models promise a more refined, versatile and dynamic ride for everyday riders and serious tourers alike.
New Look, Same TRACER DNA
Both models adopt a fresh, compact design that leans into Yamaha’s “Roads of Life” philosophy. Sleek bodywork, dynamic LED lighting, and animated position lights bring a more aggressive presence while keeping things functional and practical for real-world use. A redesigned rear LED tail section adds to the modern silhouette, reinforcing that sport-touring versatility.
Ride-by-Wire + Customisable Modes
For 2025, the TRACER 7 range gets Yamaha’s Chip-Controlled Throttle (YCC-T) and Yamaha Ride Control (YRC), bringing a host of rider aids into the mix. Choose between Sport, Street or your own Custom mode, adjusting throttle response and traction control to suit your ride. Whether you’re carving up B-roads or commuting through the city, the TRACER adapts in real time.
Cruise control is now standard – a huge win for long-distance comfort. Activate it from third gear and above 40km/h, with easy +/- adjustment in 1 or 10km/h increments. Deactivation is seamless via switch, clutch, brakes, or throttle roll-off.

Same Great CP2 Heart, Now EU5+ Ready
At the core is Yamaha’s proven 690cc CP2 engine, now EU5+ compliant. Producing 54kW at 8,750rpm and 68Nm at 6,500rpm, it offers strong midrange torque and that signature 270° crank feel. The ride-by-wire system enhances throttle smoothness and response, while the Assist & Slipper Clutch reduces lever effort by 22% and prevents wheel hop on aggressive downshifts.
Chassis Tweaks for a More Planted Ride
Yamaha has reworked the frame and swingarm to improve stability and rider confidence, especially when fully loaded. The new high-tensile steel frame features enhanced rigidity, while the longer swingarm (+40mm) adds stability at higher speeds. A redesigned chain cover reduces vibration and improves durability.
Adjustable 41mm USD forks offer 18 levels of rebound damping, giving serious tuning potential up front. Out back, the monoshock with remote preload adjuster makes suspension tweaks a breeze for solo or two-up touring.
New radial-mount brake calipers boost stopping power, paired with sticky Michelin Road 6 GT tyres for dependable grip in all UK weather conditions.

Touring Comfort, Dialled In
The riding position has been revised for 2025 with higher, wider handlebars (+30mm height / +25mm width) and a new riser for a more upright stance. The two-piece seat is now adjustable (20mm range) and sculpted for better support. The GT model ups the comfort even further with a special seat material and added cushioning.
Pillion riders benefit from a 40mm longer rear seat, redesigned grab handles, and updated footpegs. Speaking of footpegs, the GT version includes rubber inserts to cut vibration on longer rides.

Extended Range & Improved Wind Protection
Both models now feature a larger 18L fuel tank, helping you go further between stops without compromising slim ergonomics. On the GT, a new 90mm taller touring screen (adjustable by 60mm) has been aerodynamically tested to reduce buffeting. The standard model gets a smoked screen for a sportier vibe.
GT riders also get three-stage heated grips as standard – perfect for year-round UK touring – and a centre stand for easy maintenance and luggage loading.
Tech & Connectivity Updates
A new 5-inch full-colour TFT display supports smartphone pairing and turn-by-turn navigation via the Garmin StreetCross app. The revamped switchgear uses flexible printed circuits for improved ergonomics and ease of use, even with gloves.
A USB-C port sits next to the dash for phone charging or sat-nav power, while new auto-cancelling indicators and Emergency Stop Signalling (ESS) add safety on the road.
