Henry Stubbs’ immaculate 1974 Suzuki GT550 stole the spotlight, taking Best in Show, while Ned Cooper’s 1957 Milocatta Special Mk2 impressed with Best Machine of Technical Interest. Rod Hann’s Norton International, Martin Short’s Honda CB350K4, and Rob Lymner’s Kawasaki AE 80 each topped their decade classes, showcasing the incredible diversity of classic motorcycles on display.
Japanese machines shone as well, with Paul Baskerville’s Suzuki GT750 Super Sport (1975) named Best Japanese Bike. On the custom side, Tom Peters’ Ducati 999 wowed as Best Custom of the Year, and Martin Quick’s Yamaha GTS1000 earned the title of Most Original Bike. Club stands were celebrated as well, with the Kawasaki Z1 Owners Club taking Best Japanese Club Stand and the Ducati Owners Club winning Best Non-Japanese Club Stand, which highlighted the passion and dedication of motorcycle enthusiasts from across the country.

This year’s show at the Staffordshire Showground promises even more excitement, with star guests Wayne Gardner, 1987 500cc World Champion and Roger Marshall, British champion and TT hero, joining the weekend. Alongside them will be stunning bikes, buzzing club stands and the legendary Stafford autojumble, making the Classic Motorcycle Mechanics Show sponsored by Carole Nash an unmissable celebration of motorcycling culture.
