Suzuki’s just announced that the new GSX-R1000R 40th Anniversary Edition is landing in spring 2026, with an OTR price of £17,599.

Unveiled earlier this year to celebrate 40 years of GSX-R brilliance, the new thou’ has had its guts thoroughly reworked. We’re talking a fresh crankshaft, new crankcases, new pistons, new rods, and a bump in compression. The proper MotoGP party trick, it’s variable valve timing system, whilst they’ve added a new pipe, a sharper electronics package and, yes, proper aero winglets to glue the front end down when you’re chasing the redline in sixth. The whole powerplant now breathes clean enough to satisfy Euro5+ clipboard-wielders, but crucially still punches harder than before.
On the tech front, the updated Gixxer packs an IMU-governed traction control system, roll torque control, ABS, launch control, a bi-directional shifter and selectable power modes.
You can eyeball the new bike from tomorrow when MCL 2025 kicks off at the NEC. It’ll be headlining a full GSX-R heritage tunnel: 1985 GSX-R750F at one end, modern missile at the other, with highlights like a GSX-R750 SRAD and the iconic K5 wedged in between.
Also soaking up the spotlight is the Yoshimura SERT endurance weapon… the same GSX-R1000R that bulldozed the 2024 EWC and added yet another Bol d’Or trophy to Suzuki’s cabinet.
If you’re heading to the NEC, you’ll find the Suzuki at 3D25 in hall 3A. Take a chequebook and try not to drool on the paintwork.
