Details are sketchy at the moment (as in there aren’t any) but this looks like Ducati’s foray into lightweight sportsbikes – ladies and gents, say hello to the 699 Minigale.
As you can see from the photo, there are several cost-cutting measures including the part-trellis frame, rather than the full monocoque, and the motor looks to be a conventional Desmo lifted from the Monster instead of the 1199/899’s Superquadro, tech-filled powerplant. The underseat exhausts and cheaper fork/brake combo should also assist in keeping the price to a minimum.
