Ducati 699 Minigale

Details are sketchy at the moment (as in there aren’t any) but this looks like Ducati’s foray into lightweight sportsbikes – ladies and gents, say hello to the 699 Minigale.

As you can see from the photo, there are several cost-cutting measures including the part-trellis frame, rather than the full monocoque, and the motor looks to be a conventional Desmo lifted from the Monster instead of the 1199/899’s Superquadro, tech-filled powerplant. The underseat exhausts and cheaper fork/brake combo should also assist in keeping the price to a minimum.

The last time Ducati had anything in the range resembling a lightweight sportsbike was the SS family. More, when we get more…maybe
