Snowdonia and the Brecon Beacons are full of great motorbike routes, ranging from fast and flowing A-roads to tiny passes. What combines all the routes is the spectacular scenery that these National Parks have to offer. Here’s a selection of routes that you have to try!
In Snowdonia, you can loop around Snowdon, stop in Betws-y-Coed for a brew, then tackle the less-known roads and head over to the Mach Loop in the hope to see the RAF planes fly literally below you.
The Brecon Beacons has a host of great roads to choose from, but we picked adrenalin junkies’ favourite: the Black Mountain Road (made famous by Top Gear), and at the other end of the spectrum, we rode the Gospel Pass, which is slow and narrow, but the views are absolutely breath-taking.

And what’s more, there is plenty of great riding outside the parks too. We found a real gem just outside the Brecon Beacons, the Devil’s Staircase… it’s great, have a look.
With international travel still more than a little bit tricky, Riding in the UK has many benefits. If you go and explore Snowdonia and the Brecon Beacons on a bike, you will discover that there is really no need to travel any further.
